Research

St Stephen's AIDS Trust Research Unit provides comprehensive clinical research services to all HIV and GUM patients attending all Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.  The unit performs high quality, patient focused research into HIV, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases and other therapeutic areas, from ‘first into man’ phase 1 research to post approval phase IV studies.

All research is performed by experienced research nurses and world leading HIV physicians according to the highest ethical and regulatory standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in accordance with UK clinical trial regulations.

The Research Unit offers a high level of comfort in a well-designed and contemporary setting, with the clinical needs and well being of individuals enrolled in trials being its main priority. The Unit includes clinical assessment rooms, blood taking facilities and a state-of-the-art 12-bedded Unit is equipped with intensive sampling and monitoring facilities for pharmacological studies. An on-site research and service laboratory provided high quality on site services for the prompt and accurate processing of clinical samples.
