St Stephen's AIDS Trust was founded in 1991 as a registered charity, (number 10022825) by Professor Brian Gazzard and fellow doctors. The Charity is based at St Stephen's Centre, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
In 2010 the Charity became a charitable company limited by guarantee, retaining the same Chairman and Board of Trustees with the new Charity number 1134163.
Our Charity's mission statement is "to promote clinical research into the treatment of HIV and those infections and malignancies associated with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), in particular the research undertaken at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and to publish such research. It also promotes education regarding all aspects and matters relating to HIV by providing information, training and advice throughout the world".
